Privacy Policy
This policy covers the website at chadrickthesane.me and the private content-management application operated by ChadRickTheSane ("we," "us"), which helps plan, publish, and measure the ChadRickTheSane video channel. Contact: compliance@chadrickthesane.me.
1. Summary
- The application is a private tool used by the channel operator. It is not offered to the public, and no one else creates an account.
- When the operator connects a Google account, the application reads channel data (for example video performance statistics) so it can produce reports. It does not sell, rent, or share that data.
- The website does not use advertising cookies, trackers, or analytics profiling.
2. Information we handle
2.1 Website visitors
The site is informational. We do not ask visitors to register, and we do not run advertising or cross-site tracking. Like any web host, our hosting provider may keep standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested, timestamps) for security and reliability. If you email us, we receive your email address and message and use them only to respond.
2.2 Google user data accessed by the application
The application uses Google OAuth to connect to the operator's own YouTube channel. It requests only the access it needs, which is limited to the following scopes:
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/youtube.readonly: view the channel's videos, titles, descriptions, and public and channel-level metadata.https://www.googleapis.com/auth/yt-analytics.readonly: view channel analytics reports (views, watch time, retention, subscribers gained, traffic sources).https://www.googleapis.com/auth/youtube.upload(only if publishing is enabled): upload and schedule videos the operator has approved.
The application also stores the OAuth tokens Google issues so it can keep working without asking the operator to sign in each time.
3. How we use Google user data
Data obtained from Google APIs is used only to provide and improve the user-facing features of the application for the operator:
- Showing video and channel performance in reports and a daily summary.
- Identifying which topics and formats perform best so the operator can plan future videos.
- Uploading or scheduling videos that the operator has explicitly approved (if enabled).
We do not use Google user data for advertising, for building user profiles for sale, or for any purpose unrelated to these features.
4. Google API Services Limited Use disclosure
The use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. In particular:
- We use Google user data only to provide or improve the features described above.
- We do not transfer Google user data to others except as needed to provide those features, to comply with law, or as part of a merger or sale of assets with notice to you.
- We do not use or transfer Google user data for serving advertisements, including retargeting, personalized, or interest-based advertising.
- We do not allow humans to read Google user data unless we have your affirmative consent for specific data, it is necessary for security or to comply with law, or the data is aggregated and used for internal operations.
- We do not use Google user data to develop, improve, or train generalized AI or machine-learning models.
5. AI processing
To write summaries of analytics, the application may send aggregated performance figures (such as view counts and retention percentages) to an AI model provider, Anthropic, via its Claude service. This is done only to generate the operator's reports. The data sent is limited to what the summary needs, is not used to train generalized AI models, and is handled under the provider's applicable commercial terms and privacy commitments.
6. Storage and security
Google user data, OAuth tokens, and application records are stored on the operator's own computer in a local database and files that are not publicly accessible. Secrets are kept in environment variables and never committed to source control. Access to the machine and the application is limited to the operator, and the application's messaging bot responds only to the operator's own account. Backups are encrypted. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect the data.
7. Sharing
We do not sell Google user data or other personal information. We share data only with service providers needed to run the application (for example the AI provider described in section 5 and Google itself when calling its APIs), and only to the extent necessary. We may disclose information if required by law.
8. Retention and deletion
Analytics data is kept only as long as it is useful for trend reporting, and OAuth tokens are kept only while the connection is active. You can end access at any time:
- Revoke access in your Google Account at myaccount.google.com/permissions. Tokens stop working immediately.
- Email compliance@chadrickthesane.me to request deletion of any stored Google user data or of any message you sent us. We will act on verified requests within 30 days.
When access is revoked, the application deletes the stored tokens.
9. Cookies
The website does not set advertising or tracking cookies. If that changes, this policy will be updated first.
10. Children
The website and application are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
11. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict use of your personal information. Contact us at the address above and we will respond within the time required by law.
12. Changes
We may update this policy. The "Last updated" date will change, and material changes affecting Google user data will be made here before they take effect.
